Gur Prasaad

Only through GurParsaad – the Divine Wisdom – can we truly understand and internalize the presence of the Oankaar, the all-pervading Creator. It is this Divine Wisdom that guides us, shapes our understanding, and leads us toward unity with the infinite Oankaar.

But what is GurParsaad? The word itself is deeply meaningful. Gur refers to divine guidance, often imparted through a Guru or spiritual wisdom, while Parsaad means grace or blessing. Together, GurParsaad represents the grace-filled wisdom that illuminates our path and allows us to recognize and internalize the divine virtues of Oankaar.

Why is GurParsaad essential? Because the human mind, left to its own devices, often gets caught up in illusions – ego, desires, fears, and attachments. These distractions cloud our vision and prevent us from seeing the divine essence within ourselves and the world around us. Oankaar is ever-present, but to experience and become one with it, we need the guidance and grace of divine wisdom to break free from these illusions.

GurParsaad teaches us how to internalize the godly virtues of Oankaar. These virtues include fearlessness, self-sufficiency, freedom from enmity, timelessness, and oneness. By embracing these qualities in our lives, we align ourselves with the divine. For example:

Fearlessness (Nirbhau): We learn to rise above fear, knowing that the eternal Oankaar resides within us.

Freedom from hate (Nirvair): We overcome enmity and live in harmony with all.

Oneness (Ik): We see the unity of all creation, dissolving the barriers of separation.

But this transformation doesn’t happen automatically. It requires conscious effort, reflection, and surrender. Through GurParsaad, we are shown how to cultivate these virtues – not just as concepts we understand intellectually, but as truths we embody in our daily lives. This is how we move closer to the Oankaar and eventually become one with it.

When we internalize these divine virtues through GurParsaad, something extraordinary happens: we begin to experience the divine not as something separate or distant, but as an integral part of who we are. The barriers between “me” and “the divine” dissolve, and we experience oneness with the infinite Creator. This realization brings profound peace, clarity, and joy because it reconnects us to our true nature.

GurParsaad also reminds us that this path is not one of struggle or force. It is a journey of grace, of opening ourselves to Divine wisdom, and allowing it to guide us. This requires humility and surrender – letting go of our ego and trusting in the divine wisdom that flows to us through grace.

Let’s embrace GurParsaad in our lives. Let us open our hearts and minds to the divine guidance that leads us toward the virtues of Oankaar. By doing so, we not only gain the wisdom to navigate life’s challenges but also experience the ultimate truth of oneness with the Creator, who is present everywhere, in everything, and within each of us.

Saibhang

Onkaar is Saibhang – self-existent, not created by anyone or anything else. It exists on its own, independent and needing no support. This divine quality of self-existence holds a profound lesson for us, one that can transform how we see ourselves and live our lives.

Let’s start by contemplating what it means for Onkaar to be Saibhang. Unlike everything in the physical world, which depends on something else for its existence – parents for birth, air for survival, or the earth for sustenance – Onkaar is free from all dependency. It is its own source, self-sustaining, and eternal. This truth not only speaks to the power and completeness of the Creator but also points us toward a deeper understanding of ourselves.

When we internalize the idea of Saibhang, we realize something extraordinary: within each of us lies the same divine essence that is self-existent and self-sufficient. This realization leads us to understand our own worth – not as defined by others, not measured by external achievements, but as intrinsic and unchanging. We begin to see that we are complete and whole, just as we are.

This realization liberates us. It frees us from the fears that so often weigh us down – the fear of loneliness, the fear of inferiority, the fear of being incomplete. Many of us go through life feeling we need someone else or something external to make us whole. We look to relationships, possessions, or societal validation to define our worth. But when we truly understand Saibhang, we see that our worth is not dependent on anyone or anything outside of us. It is inherent, eternal, and unshakable.

Internalizing Saibhang also brings us inner freedom. It frees us from dependency on outer circumstances, material things, or other people for our peace of mind. We often think, “I’ll be happy when…” – when I get that job, when I’m in a relationship, when others approve of me. But Saibhang teaches us that true peace and joy come from within, not from the external world. This understanding empowers us to face life with confidence and grace, no matter the situation.

Most importantly, Saibhang reminds us of our inner strength. When we see ourselves as self-sufficient beings connected to the divine, we stop seeking external validation. We stop fearing solitude or the opinions of others. We stand tall, knowing that the divine within us is complete and perfect. This sense of inner freedom is deeply liberating – it allows us to live authentically, without fear, and without relying on others to define our happiness.

Imagine a life where you no longer depend on the outside world for your peace and joy. A life where you feel whole and worthy simply because you exist. That is the power of internalizing Saibhang. It aligns us with the eternal truth of Onkaar and helps us live as free, confident, and fulfilled beings.

Embrace the truth of Saibhang – the self-existent divine essence within. Let us recognize our inherent worth, free ourselves from dependency, and step into a life of true inner freedom.

Ajooni

This divine essence is eternal – Akaal – and never comes into birth – Ajooni. It is never incarnated, has no parents, and is not bound by the limitations of being a person. Unlike everything we see in the material world, Onkar is beyond the cycle of birth and death.

Let’s take a moment to reflect on this. Everything in the physical world – the people we know, the objects we use, even the stars in the sky – has a beginning and an end. Birth and death, creation and destruction, are the natural cycles of all things that come into existence. The moment something is born, it is already destined to one day perish. This is the law of time, and nothing physical can escape it.

But Oankar – the eternal essence within us – stands beyond these limitations. It is not born and will never die. It has no beginning, no end, no parents, and no physical form. It is not a person or an entity tied to this material world. It is pure, infinite consciousness, untouched by the constraints of time, space, and matter. This eternal nature of Onkar reveals a profound truth about who we are at our core.

When we identify only with our physical existence, we limit ourselves. We see ourselves as mere bodies, as individuals with a fixed lifespan, bound by time. This perspective leads to fear – fear of death, of loss, of the unknown. But when we recognize that the Onkar within us is eternal, we realize that our true essence is not tied to the body. The body may come and go, but the divine within us remains constant, unchanging, and beyond time.

This realization can be transformative. It reminds us that the things we often cling to -status, possessions, even our physical identities – are temporary. They are bound by the cycle of birth and death. But the divine essence within us is timeless and infinite. When we connect with this eternal essence, we free ourselves from the fear of change, the fear of loss, and the fear of death itself.

Living with this awareness allows us to shift our focus to what truly matters: the eternal values of love, compassion, truth, and connection. We begin to see life as a journey, where the physical body is a vessel, and the divine essence within is the guiding light.

Karta Purakh

The Creator is not something separate or distant; it resides within its own creation. This idea reveals an extraordinary truth: everything we see, touch, and experience in this universe is a manifestation of the divine. From the vastness of the stars to the simplest blade of grass, the Creator exists in all.

This realization leads us to something truly profound – the Creator is not only the source of all existence but also actively present within it. It is not a passive force but one that imbues all living beings with creative power. The creative spark we see in nature, in art, and in human ingenuity is not merely a product of our own making; it is a reflection of the Creator’s virtue within us.

Take a moment to think about this: the act of creation, whether it is a bird building its nest, an artist painting a masterpiece, or even the smallest gesture of kindness, is an echo of the Creator’s essence. This creative power connects all living beings, reminding us of our shared origin and shared purpose. It is a divine thread that ties us together, inspiring growth, innovation, and love.

But how often do we pause to acknowledge this divine presence within ourselves and others? How often do we recognize that the ability to create, to imagine, and to bring something new into the world is a sacred gift? When we embrace this understanding, life takes on a new depth. Every action, no matter how small, becomes an opportunity to honor the Creator’s presence within us.

This awareness also calls us to live responsibly. If the Creator resides within creation, then how we treat the world around us – how we treat nature, other people, and even ourselves – matters deeply. Protecting the environment, nurturing relationships, and expressing gratitude are not just moral choices; they are spiritual acts that align us with the Creator’s purpose.

Satnaam

The primal virtue of the One is Eternal Existence. This Eternal Existence is not something that fades with time or diminishes with change – it is forever. It is the very essence of life, flowing through all creation, the force that sustains everything around us and within us.

When we talk about life, we often think of it as something fleeting – a brief moment between birth and death. But the life within us is not merely our physical existence; it is a reflection of the Creator’s eternal virtue. It is the breath of divinity that animates our being. This realization transforms how we view life, not just as an individual experience, but as a sacred manifestation of the One’s existence.

Now, to truly understand this eternal essence, we must turn to the concept of Sat – the Eternal Divine Self. Sat signifies the indestructible force within each of us, the spark of eternity that remains constant through all of life’s ups and downs. It is a reminder that no matter the challenges we face, no matter the uncertainties of the external world, there is an unchanging truth within us, a source of infinite strength and peace.

But how do we connect with this Eternal Self? It begins with realization. To recognize that we are not merely our bodies, our minds, or our circumstances, but something far greater. We are carriers of divine essence, a reflection of that timeless virtue. Once we internalize this truth, we no longer feel disconnected or insignificant. Instead, we become aware of our deep connection with the universe and the Creator’s eternal presence.

This realization also brings responsibility. If the Eternal exists within us, then every action we take, every word we speak, and every thought we harbor becomes a reflection of that divinity. By aligning our lives with this truth, we not only find peace within ourselves but also contribute to a more harmonious world.

So, The Eternal is not a distant ideal or abstract concept. It is here, now, within us. It is the foundation of our being and the guiding light that can lead us to fulfillment. Embrace this indestructible force within, and let it guide you to live with purpose, love, and unity.
